If you love golf in all its forms – competitive or relaxed, social or serious – but always enjoyable – Wanneroo is the Club for you.

There are chances to represent the Club in the annual pennant fixtures, both Summer and Winter, plus a huge amount of trophies to be won throughout the year during a busy calendar of weekly competitions and with plenty of more light-hearted events allowing players the chance to get out and play their favourite sport with their friends. With individual and team competitions on offer as well, the aim is that there should be something to appeal to everyone.

Pennant golf is one of the highlights of the year for golf clubs around Australia. It doesn’t get much better than representing your Club in a series of matches against your local rivals during the height of the golfing season.

The “A grade” competition features 20 metropolitan clubs and is one of the most prestigious club events in the State.

Every club sets out each season with high hopes and dreams of taking the pennant back to their home club.

Golf WA runs men’s pennant competitions for players of all standards, which means that golfers of all abilities can enjoy the thrill of representing their club in team competition. Whether elite golfer or high handicapper everyone has the chance to shine and see how their game holds up under the most intense pressure where one missed or made putt could ultimately be the difference between promotion or relegation and claiming the pennant or having to wait another year.

The women field teams in both the Metropolitan Pennants and the Northern Division Pennants and there are similar pennant competitions for both senior male and senior female players, though they tend to play fourball matches rather than singles.

There are also several Club competitions which act as local qualifiers with the winner going on to represent Wanneroo in a regional event against other clubs. One of the most notable of these is the Holden Scramble, a hugely-popular Pro-Amateur team event run by the PGA of Australia.

Wanneroo is a friendly club where visitors are most welcome.

But we have never lost sight of the fact that first and foremost the Club is run for the benefit of the members, the same members whose hard work and dedication created the Club out of nothing all those years ago and who have helped shape it into one of the leading clubs in the state.

Membership brings with it many benefits, none more rewarding than being able to enjoy playing on one of Western Australia’s most highly-regarded courses in the company of fellow members and guests during specific times set aside across the week.

In addition to a daily pro-shop competition, weekly competitions are held for Ladies on Tuesday and Thursday mornings; Men’s competitions Wednesday am & pm;

Friday am Veterans for both ladies and men and Saturday am and pm competitions are available to ladies and men with the appropriate membership.
